SPLOA Information

South Penn Lacrosse Officials Association: Mission

To support lacrosse in Southern Pennsylvania by providing an association of Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) and National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) certified officials for PIAA and youth lacrosse games in the region.

PIAA District III Coverage

SPLOA works with the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) in PIAA District III to provide officials for PIAA boy's lacrosse games in the York Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA), Lancaster Lebanon League (LLL) and Berks County Interscholastic Athletic Association (BCIAA) leagues.

SPLOA's members comprise the South Penn Chapter of PIAA Boys Lacrosse Officials, which has jurisdiction over all PIAA lacrosse games played in the YAIAA, LLL and BCIAA leagues.

Youth Lacrosse Coverage

SPLOA works with the York County Lacrosse Association (YCLA) to provide officials for YCLA member club youth lacrosse games (U9, U11, U13 and U15) in York and Adams counties in Pennsylvania.

SPLOA works with Lancaster-Lebanon lacrosse clubs to provide officials for youth lacrosse games (elementary and middle school) in Lancaster and Lebanon counties in Pennsylvania.

News & Events

2008-2009 Recruiting Effort Underway

SPLOA has opened registration for 2008-2009 and a big recruiting effort is underway. The association is working hard to ensure full coverage for all games in all five leagues it will cover in 2009 and is looking for quality officials. Anyone who would like to officiate with SPLOA can regiser by mail, or in person at any SPLOA meeting, exam date or training session.

07/02/2008: PIAA Chapter Granted

The PIAA recognized officals from SPLOA as a PIAA lacrosse officials chapter. The chapter has been named 'South Penn Chapter of PIAA Boys Lacrosse Officials' and services the York-Adams, Lancaster-Lebanon and Berks leagues. With this move, the PIAA and SPLOA have guaranteed that lacrosse will be played as a PIAA sport in the geographic areas these leagues cover in 2009.
